The Shenandoah County School Board may have to make some cuts to its proposed $98 million budget for the upcoming school year over the next several weeks. Shenandoah County’s Board of Supervisors requested the school division decrease its budget by around $620,000 so that it doesn’t have to increase the county’s tax rate beyond the five-cent increase it is already proposing.
