TULSA, Okla. – The Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy (OICA) will host a motion picture event documenting investigations into child protection systems similar to the scandal that rocked Oklahoma 40 years ago.

Governor Stitt has called a special election to fill a vacancy in the office of Cotton County Commissioner, District 1, the Cotton County Election Board Secretary said today. The Special Primary Election will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2024. The Special General Election will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2024. The filing period begins Monday, May 6, 2024 at 8 a.m. and ends Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 5 p.m. Those interested in becoming a candidate for the office may obtain an official filing packet at the Cotton County Election Board or download a packet from the State Election Board website at oklahoma.gov/elections. The Cotton County Election Board is located at 301 N. Broadway, Room 2. The Cameron University Department of Art, Music and Theatre Arts has announced scholarship awards for students majoring in one of the department's three academic disciplines, as well as one scholarship that is presented to a non-music major. Tuition waivers were awarded to art students Sooner Meyer of Walters, Ok.
