Saturday was prime time for fans of horse racing, and Aiken had its share of fun with at least two Kentucky Derby parties drawing hundreds of local resident and visitors for a few hours of relaxation and about two minutes of suspense.

What's happening today
The Aiken Choral Society will perform a concert titled The Great American Musical at 3 p.m. today at St. John's United Methodist Church, 104 Newberry St. N.E. The concert will feature music from "Wicked," "Oliver," "West Side Story," "Sweeney Todd" and more. The concert is free and open to the public but a freewill offering will be collected.
